Sundowner Programme 44 Music4tubas –
Think you know what a tuba sounds like? Think again.
In music4tubas, the biggest and lowest member of the brass family shows a very different side of its personality. Hear four tubas sing together, a single tuba dance through Grieg, tackle Vivaldi’s Winter and race through the dazzling Carnival of Venice.
Along the way there’s Handel, Debussy, Csárdás and even a visit to the world of jazz with St James Infirmary.
Warm, lyrical, playful and astonishingly agile, the tuba proves that it can do far more than provide the bass line.
Join Brian for an hour of familiar music, unexpected sounds and a few surprises in music4tubas.
