Max Atticus – Authentic Advocacy – Autism
We talk to Max, a trans non-binary advocate and founder of Authentic Advocacy, to discuss their journey with late-diagnosed autism and ADHD. Max shares insights on autistic burnout, masking, gender identity intersecting with neurodivergence, and the challenges of growing up undiagnosed. Topics include the history of autism diagnosis, why AFAB individuals are often overlooked, navigating social struggles and puberty as a neurodivergent person, and creating inclusive spaces for autistic and disabled communities.
